Anthony + Elizabeth are Getting Married!

We’re good friends with Anthony and Elizabeth here in Iowa City.  Alex and Anthony are studying for their PhD together, and Elizabeth and I have managed to carve out our own friendship in the mix.  I was giddy when they called and asked if I would be their witness to get their marriage license!  In the state of Iowa it is required to bring along a 3rd party (officially called disinterested person-ha!).  I thought this was a great opportunity to capture a special moment and if I say so myself, the results were just darling 😉

This past summer, I had the opportunity to attend my best friend’s wedding in beautiful Valencia, Spain! I am on cloud 9 that some of my film photography from that trip is being featured on the amazingly stylish Belle & Chic!

Crystal + Mike Maternity | Carolyn Ann Photography

Mike and Crystal are good friends of Alex and me.  Alex was the best man in their wedding, Mike will be a groomsman in ours. I am excited to meet the little nugget they will be having this August!! In the meanwhile, I am super happy that I had the chance to photograph their maternity session and capture this special time in their lives. We shot at the Mentor Lagoons which has the most amazing forest and beach.  It was the perfect sunset light for photos 🙂

Crystal and Mike shared their ultrasound pictures of baby McKayla along with an adorable Mickey onsie hat set.  Of course, Mike the total goofball played around and made his lovely wife laugh 😀 They also told me the sweet story of McKayla’s name which was quite serendipitous.

We found this lovely path of flowers and then moved on to the beach.  Crystal was such a trooper- so willing to hike or climb over anything when 7 months pregnant!

Mike wanted to teach his daughter how to skip rocks 😉

April 365 Highlights | Carolyn Ann Photography

April has been the biggest tease of all months.  70 degree weather then snow, then flowers, then flooding.  I celebrated some special birthdays and a whole lot more homework- looking forward to May!
